The Book

I wrote a workbook!

When I taught high school ceramics, I wrote three workbooks for students to use in class. It had the projects with photographic step-by-step instructions, art history, art critiques, and closing assignments. So, when I switched to middle school, a few a years ago, I started writing a workbook for beginning art. It took a long time, as you can imagine, because creating projects and taking pictures of the process, creating videos, and all of the writing and editing can be lengthy. All of this while teaching:)

The book has five chapters, and a sub plan sections. The curriculum is based on a block schedule. I only see the students every other day. When I taught on a daily schedule, I taught about eight weeks' worth more of projects. So, I will eventually add more chapters. The image to the left is page from Chapter 1. Below are the chapters. Enjoy!

My book as a book in power point. It's great when presenting because it flips pages like a book. You would need to download a copy for the transitions to work.  Right now, I have it up to chapter 3 and will be adding to it.

Chapter 1.docx

This chapter starts with hand drawings and then flowers. They are two great projects for beginners when it comes to drawing with accurate proportions. The images below are linked to the pages with the demonstration videos
