Abstract Rainbow

Bright and Colorful

This example is by my younger daughter. The goal is to create an advanced, layered version of the classic rainbow paintings from kinder years. There are three layers. The first is to draw patterns of shapes with crayons. Then paint a non-traditional rainbow. Mix up those colors! Let that dry. Then glaze other shapes on top. A fun trick is to add a watercolor puddle and then use a straw to blow air on it. It makes an interesting texture on the paper.
