Color Theory Drawing

A popular project for teaching color theory is to have students create an art piece that has the twelve colors of the color wheel. I have two examples. The first is a donut with the donut box. The donut is drawn in colored pencil also has tin foil stars for the sprinkles. The second is of a double scoop ice cream cone melting with a melting rainbow background.

For this assignment, I have students read the color theory chapter in The Book. Then they have to draw three rough drafts for this project.
