One-Point Perspective

Perspective

For this assignment, students need to draw a word in one-point perspective with at least ten shapes also in one-point perspective. They need to choose one of these words: create, sports, dream, and candy. Of the ten extra shapes, five need to relate to the chosen word.

The Basics

In The Book, it goes step-by-step in how to do the basic forms to the left.

Word Choice

Even though students design the word in one-point perspective, some students will have a hard time figuring out how to draw the word. When that happens, I tell them to go ahead and use one of my examples. In large classes, there is not enough time to teach how to draw every letter from any angle.

Spirals and Ribbons

This assignment is very forgiving for one-point perspective and is a good beginner lesson. The video below shows how to get started.

Perspective and Shading

Every once and awhile on Pinterest, I see a cool project. I saw one like this one and drew my own version. This assignment is good for developing value ranges.
