For this assignment, students are asked to draw a woodland animal with a fall scene in the body. It also needs gradations for the animal and the background. This is an easy animal to modify. For example, dinosaurs with a prehistoric scene instead. A great artist to reference for this is ceramics artist, Jason Walker . He is also great for students to write critiques on.

Once, for first quarter, I had the students create a Fall Beverage drawing. The cup needed to be in colored pencil with a woodland animal as the logo. The background needed to be a Fall scene in pen and ink. I just like the challenge in creating contrast with the two different mediums.
